by foot:
Leave the bustle of Highgate and head towards Kendal’s artistic quarter with the Brewery Arts Centre theatre, art-house international (and mainstream) cinema, artisan shops, and Abbot Hall Art Gallery. Around the corner you will find us in New Inn Yard. At the head of the stone paved yard stands New Inn House, a Victorian school and warehouse conversion and a wonderful contrast to the contemporary architecture of The Warehouse building across the yard.
by road:
From the North/South
Leave the M6 at junction 36. Take the first exit onto the dual carriageway (A590–A591) remain on the dual carriageway for 5.3 miles, Exit when you see the first exit sign for ‘Kendal’ (A6)
At the roundabout take the first exit onto Milnthorpe Road (A6) and continue through traffic lights. You will enter the one way system as you see the river and parish church.
Keep to the left lane, you will pass the Brewery Arts Centre on your left and then proceed carefully as Yard 94 is just after ‘The New Inn’, along a narrow cobbled lane (New Inn Yard Holiday Apartments signage here)
by train:
The nearest mainline station is ‘Oxenholme the Lake District’, 2.7 miles from NIYHA (with luggage a taxi, bus or train connection to Kendal railway station is recommended) Kendal railway station is a 10 minute walk from the apartments. See map. There is a taxi rank at Oxenholme the Lake District.
by air:
From Manchester Airport there are direct trains to Oxenholme the Lake District.
by bus:
Kendal bus station is a 10 minute walk from NIYHA.
